The extensive construction fencing you see ensures animals and visitors stay clear of our active construction areas. In addition, tree removal is a necessary step to clear the land before we can work on the pipeline. Don’t worry - tree removal is a carefully monitored process – ensuring appropriate access for construction without negative impacts to the natural environment.
Also, last week – Boat Sighting on the Reservoir!
If you walked Sawyer Camp Trail last week, perhaps you glimpsed a rare sight: a boat on the reservoir! On January 13th and 14th, a dive team began inspecting the Dam’s underwater outlet structures – about 100 feet below the surface. Soon this sight will become more common as divers perform seismic upgrades to these underwater outlet systems. Work will take place in all three reservoirs (Upper and Lower Crystal Springs, and San Andreas Lake).
