The first two by the SFPUC—the Lower Crystal Springs Dam Improvement Project followed by several essential improvements to nearby pipelines and pump stations—were completed by the end of 2014.

Before we began the dam & pipeline/pump station projects, San Mateo County demolished its existing bridge on top of the dam, which had been deemed seismically unsafe and in need of replacement. The County of San Mateo Department of Public Works Bridge Replacement project is currently in progress and scheduled for final completion in early 2018.

It will be followed by one more several-month-long project by PG&E—the installation of high-voltage cables to replace existing overhead transmission towers.

The bridge is currently expected to reopen for public use in fall 2018.

For further information and updates, please visit The County of San Mateo Department of Public Works website at http://publicworks.smcgov.org/crystal-springs-dam-bridge-replacement-project

mliapes@sfwater.org

Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8639221748221413844.post-90228087806302687412017-05-29T16:54:10.328-07:002017-05-29T16:54:10.328-07:00After seven years, it's still closed.
