Coming Soon: Underwater Work

Do you have questions about work in the water at Crystal Springs and San Andreas reservoirs?

You may have seen the bright yellow booms currently prominent in San Andreas Lake and the Lower Crystal Springs Reservoir, north of Highway 92 just off Highway 280. The booms are silt curtains which block animals and plants from entering the work zones and protect water quality by containing disturbed sediment. Sawyer Camp Trail users will see silt curtains near the southern trailhead this summer.

Divers will perform underwater seismic upgrades at depths of over 100 feet, and boats will continue to be a frequent sight. All watercraft and materials are carefully screened to prevent non-native species and contaminants from entering the water.
