Crystal Springs Reservoir Projects Update

Sawyer Camp Trail reopened today at sunrise after a 2-day closure. More short trail closures are likely this season…please stay tuned!

San Andreas Trail to the north remains open…but PG&E gas pipeline water-test work (including 50 blue “tanks” that hold discharged water) will continue adjacent to the northern-most tip of San Andreas Trail through November.

This weekend, work on the parapet wall and stilling basin of the Lower Crystal Springs Dam will continue all day Saturday and Sunday. Saturday, about 25 cement trucks will deliver concrete to the upper and lower dam areas from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. The trucks will travel through the intersection of Crystal Springs Road and Skyline Blvd., so please use caution and expect some traffic delays near the southern trailhead to Sawyer Camp Trail.

Next week on November 7th (Monday) and November 10th (Thursday), the final large-scale concrete pours will take place at the Lower Crystal Springs Dam. Both days, 50 concrete trucks will arrive during the hours of 6 a.m. and 9 p.m. Truck traffic to the dam will continue until Thanksgiving, but at a much smaller volume.

Some construction vehicles will need to drive on Sawyer Camp Trail this Saturday, as work continues on our Crystal Springs/San Andreas Pipeline. This Sunday the trail will be construction-free! Please call us 24 hours a day with any concerns at (866) 973-1476.
