We know many of you enjoy jogging in the cold, rainy weather and that Sawyer Camp Trail remains well-used throughout the winter. No trail closures are currently planned in December or January by either the SFPUC or San Mateo County Parks, so enjoy! Please subscribe (see right) for updates, as there may be a brief trail closure in February 2011 for trail maintenance.

Crystal Springs / San Andreas Transmission System Upgrade Project APPROVED
The San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (SFPUC) approved the Crystal Springs/San Andreas (CSSA) Transmission System Upgrade project and adopted the final Environmental Impact Report (EIR) at its regular meeting today.
In addition to providing supplemental water year round, the CSSA system serves as an emergency water supply if the Hetch Hetchy source water pipelines are interrupted.
This project includes improvements to the water transmission pipeline adjacent to the Sawyer Camp Trail, submersion of the outlet structures at Crystal Springs and San Andreas Reservoirs, and constructing a new Crystal Springs Pump Station.
Proposed Schedule:
• Construction bid advertisement – Late May 2010
• Construction Duration – Fall 2010 to Fall 2013
Visitors to the area can expect temporary parking restrictions near the southern trailhead to the Sawyer Camp Trail, with the trail itself closed only for short intervals.
Keep watching this site for updates!
