Update: Work Begins at San Andreas Lake and Continues at Sawyer Camp Trail

Is the San Andreas Trail one of your regular hiking spots? If so, you may see workers near San Andreas Lake preparing for construction with fencing and some tree cutting. Both are necessary steps to protect the environment as construction starts. San Andreas Trail will remain open for everyone throughout construction.

Not far from the southern entrance to Sawyer Camp Trail, crews are installing support columns for the foundation of the new Crystal Springs Pump Station. Noise should be minimal, but ground vibrations may be felt near the trailhead (Monday to Saturday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., ongoing to mid-March).

Please Be Aware: Parking may become more limited near the Sawyer Camp Trailhead, as construction activity increases. The project team realizes that parking is already difficult at Sawyer Camp Trail, and will make every effort to preserve access. Stay tuned for more details!
