UPDATE: Sawyer Camp Trail Entirely Closed February 26-27, 2013


Sawyer Camp Trail will be closed from the main (southern) trailhead to Hillcrest Blvd. on Tuesday and Wednesday, February 26th and 27th for tree maintenance by San Mateo County Parks. We apologize for any inconvenience. The trail will reopen by sunrise on Thursday, February 28th.

San Andreas Trail remains open. No additional trail closures are planned at this time.

  1. It would have been nice to issue this notice YESTERDAY (2/26) when I found the full trail closed (as did a couple of other people who came by at the same time).

    When is the "storm damaged" part of the San Andreas trail off of Hillcrest going to be repaired and reopened? The section has been closed for (I think) a couple of months now?

    When you close the full Sawyer Camp trail, you should post some alternative trails to go to, like Sweeney Ridge out of San Bruno (where I was yesterday).

    San Mateo County Parks manages the trail and can provide updates on the damaged part of San Andreas Trail.
    We will include mention of alternative trails in the future.
